WINEAUX Chateau Montelena Napa Valley Chardonnay 2007 -Aromas of peach, pear and apple. Meduim bodied with good length and a crisp finish. It was Montelena that defeated the french in the famous Steven Spurrier tasting of 1976. Wine Spectator gave this wine a 91, Robert Parker gave it a 90. Price Range-Under $50.00

WINEAUX Woolridge creek Vineyard and Winery- Tucked away in the Applegate valley this winery is well worth the trip. The bottle that we ended up purchasing was the Terravow 2007- A blend of 60% Tempranillo,30% Zinfandel,10% Syrah. Aromas of cherry and plum, this is a well balanced wine that is so smooth and easy to drink, could easily lose track of how much you have consumed.

WINEAUX Juslyn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard Select 2003-Aromas of plum, black currant and tobacco, excellent balance and a long finish. This wine is a blend from the two famed vineyards of To Kalon in Oakville and Dr. Crane in St. Helena, aged in new french oak for 28 months. Robert Parker gave this wine a 91.

WINEAUX If you are ever in Jacksonville Oregon, you must stop by South Stage Cellars. They not only pour their wines but pour some of the wineries who buy their grapes. Everything we tasted was fabulous. One of my favorites was the Chateau Lorane Duirf(Petite Sirah) it was one of the smoothest petite sirah's I have ever tasted. Aromas of plum and cherry, full bodied and complex with a smokey oak finish.

WINEAUX Edenvale Pear House Reserve Syrah 2003- Garnet in color with aromas of berries, black cherry and chocolate. This wine is medium-full bodied with smooth tannins and a spicy finish. This syrah won Gold at the "Grand Harvest Awards

WINEAUX Del Rio Vineyards -This Winery is a little hard to find because of road work that is being done but totally worth the effort. The winery and grounds are charming, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The wines are all great! My favorite was the 2008 Syrah. Aromas of plum, black currant,and thyme, full bodied, aged in 50% new oak gives it a spicy finish.

WINEAUX Schmidt Family Vineyards-This is a beautiful winery and tasting room. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My Favorite was the Syrah 2007- Aromas of blackberry, and raspberry, soft tannins with a long finish. This wine won Gold in "World of wine" and "Grand Harvest Awards".

WINEAUX Quady North- This tasting room is in downtown Jacksonville, from the moment I stepped in I felt welcome. It could have been the fabulous selection of music they were playing. (The Cure,Editors..) The tasting began with the 2007 Viognier Steelhead Run Vineyard, not overly sweet with aromas of melon and pineapple and ...a bit of minerality on the finish. I am not normally a big fan of Viognier but loved this one!

WINEAUX Argyle Knudsen Vineyard Julia's Lee's Block Willamette Valley Blanc de Blancs 2000- This is my favorite sparkler from Argyle. Creamy with melon and apple notes that lead to an elegant dry, crisp finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate gave this wine a 93. Wine Spectator gave it a 92.

WINEAUX B.R. Cohn Silver Label Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2006- . Aromas of berry, cassis and black cherry fruit. This cabernet is aged in french oak for 18 months, adding spicy, vanilla flavors and tannin. A good, focused cabernet for under $20.00.
